Mix99.1 is a unique upbeat blend of the best songs of the
80s, 90s, and
today. Our goal with Mix99.1 is to be a better commercial station than the
commercial stations you're used to hearing...without the commercials.
Therefore, our playlist is intentionally smaller than other internet stations.
We try to play music that's familiar...songs the commercial stations once played
but for some reason have forgotten.
Our music is streamed 24/7 to the internet. Our audio stream is
licensed through LoudCity. We maintain compliance with the Digital
Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). Our studios are located in Cornelius,
North Carolina, on Lake Norman. We
gladly accept requests via our playlist page or you can send a comment by
clicking "Contact". We are always eager to hear suggestions
for music to add to the playlist.
Technical
Mix99.1 uses the SAM4 music automation software by SpacialAudio. Our streams are sent to our Shoutcast/Windows Media server in Charlotte which is provided by
Web Team Partners. Mix99.1 provides the stream at 32 kbps
MP3 for dial-up connections, 64 kbps MP3 for broadband connections and 64 kbps
Windows Media format for Windows Media players. Download locations for the Winamp and Windows Media players are
linked on this page as well.
Program Schedule
Mix99.1 is an affiliate of the USA Radio Network. We provide a 5
minute newscast at the top of every hour to keep your informed.
Occasionally, we feature 70s and 80s weekends. Keep an eye on the web page
for details.
Our "Voice"
Our female voice over talent is Grayson Pierce. She's multilingual
and came up with the idea of doing some IDs in other languages, since
the Internet is a world-wide entity. Great idea, Grayson!
Thanks.
The "Ding"
That sound marks the top of the hour. The sound comes from the old CBS Radio News open used in the 1970s.
Mix99.1 is programmed by Alan Lane, a 30 year veteran of the
commercial radio business.
Alan has worked in programming and engineering for many successful
stations. Thank you for listening.
